Sir/Madam;

I have an idea for a new wget option.

Allow the user to specify a download speed for the item(s) being retrieved. The speed could be set in Bytes (B), Kilobytes (K), or Megabytes (M) depending upon the bandwidth available to the user.

While it is possible to make wget become "aware" of the bandwidth available —and what is being used by other applications— I think this would not be a good idea since it removes from the user the ability to prioritize their applications usage of the bandwidth. Just allow the user to state what bandwidth wget should use.

Thank you.
