URL: <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?47532> Summary: [RFE] support xml metalinks Project: GNU Wget Submitted by: None Submitted on: Fri 25 Mar 2016 03:31:05 PM UTC Category: Feature Request Severity: 3 - Normal Priority: 5 - Normal Status: None Privacy: Public Assigned to: None Originator Name: Dusty Mabe Originator Email: address@hidden Open/Closed: Open Discussion Lock: Any Release: None Operating System: None Reproducibility: None Fixed Release: None Planned Release: None Regression: None Work Required: None Patch Included: None _______________________________________________________ Details: If the remote file that we are trying to download via wget is a metalink xml file then it would be nice if wget had an option to automatically parse that file and then retrieve the target. This is the behavior of the curl --metalink option today. Ex: curl --metalink 'https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/metalink?repo=fedora-23&arch=x86_64' Maybe we could make this option be --metalink? _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?47532> _______________________________________________ Message sent via/by Savannah http://savannah.gnu.org/
