Details:

OS is Cygwin on W10.

I used wget as an image scraper and therefore set  -Ajpg as an option.

So the commands were
wget -r -l4 --no-parent -nv --page-requisites -H

Then I noticed that some images were missing in the end.

It turned out that in the case of a name clash, the new file gets a ".tmp"
appended. This extension is not in the list of accepted suffixes, so the file
is immediately deleted after the download!
