WARC outputs

Good morning,

New to wget and web archiving in general here. I've been trying to use wget to 
mirror a couple of my websites and output WARC files however I am unable to 
view the WARCs in webarchiveplayer. Each attempt to open a WARC this way 
results in an 'invalid WARC record, first line: WARC-type: request' error.

I have read of similar accounts of this happening but so far encountered no 
solutions. Any insight would be very much appreciated.
