I’m happy to announce a second prerelease for the upcoming Zile 2.6.

This fixes a bug introduced in 2.6.0.90 in `universal-command', and a
long-standing bug in `save-buffers-kill-emacs'.

This release is marked `alpha' where the previous release 2.6.0.90 was
marked `beta' owing to feedback from packagers who found it confusing that
there was no way to tell from the filename that it was a beta release. This
meant that automatic packaging systems found a new release on ftp.gnu.org
and decided it was a stable release!

Hence, I am following the Emacs convention of making prereleases (even of
beta quality) to alpha.gnu.org.

Here are the compressed sources and a GPG detached signature[*]:
  https://alpha.gnu.org/gnu/zile/zile-2.6.0.91.tar.gz
  https://alpha.gnu.org/gnu/zile/zile-2.6.0.91.tar.gz.sig

Use a mirror for higher download bandwidth:
  https://www.gnu.org/order/ftp.html

[*] Use a .sig file to verify that the corresponding file (without the
.sig suffix) is intact. First, be sure to download both the .sig file
and the corresponding tarball. Then, run a command like this:

  gpg --verify zile-2.6.0.91.tar.gz.sig

If that command fails because you don't have the required public key,
then run this command to import it:

  gpg --keyserver keys.gnupg.net --recv-keys 68089F7380EE4A00

and rerun the 'gpg --verify' command.

This release was bootstrapped with the following tools:
  Autoconf 2.69
  Automake 1.16.1
  Gnulib v0.1-4180-g87dc27834

* Noteworthy changes in release 2.6.0.91 (2020-12-21) [alpha]

** Bug fixes

Fix bug #59746, introduced in 2.6.0.90, where `universal-argument'
without
an explicit numeric argument would cause Zile to quit immediately.

Fix a long-standing bug where `save-buffers-kill-emacs' would not cause
Zile to exit immediately if it was executed as part of a macro or Lisp
  expression.
