Well, yeh the money would have to come from the development done after
Chicken was ported to the platform in question. The person who did the
port might have some development advantage while others play catch up.

Or they might just suffer a whole lot, proving a business model, then others sweep in and clean up after the pioneer has poured blood on the table. This is how Microsoft typically does things. Clone and conquer. They never try to be 1st. Being 1st is expensive.

It depends on how applicable/successful Chicken could be on these
platforms. I recently came across http://www.simkin.co.uk/. It appears
to have had some kind of funding/commercial backing. Do others think
Chicken might have potential in this area?

*Anything* can have potential in some new startup area. But the way you get money, is talking to bigwigs and VCs. More about your sales skills than the tech. I bet we don't actually have any smooth salesmen in our midst.

This begs a question of what do we have. I'll repurpose some ideas I had for SeaFunc about this problem.
