Running henrietta-cache (and henrietta, for that matter) on
chicken.kitten-technologies.co.uk, with this patch (and Peter's next
one), seems to have stopped the spurious errors we were getting with
corrupted-seeming data!

I was running it with DEBUGBUILD=1 to get extra debug assertions, but it
seems too slow (my server is at 100% CPU most of the time trying to do
the hourly henrietta-cache updates, and timing out lots of HTTP[S]
connections due to prolonged pauses), so I'm switching to a non-debug
build of the same code for a longer soak test.

Good work, Peter! Finding those kinds of subtle bugs takes persistence
and hard work!
