You were correct about the fix to the gentoo ebuild. Now I can successfully get 
to the "Circle daemon can not be run on a NAT network." message. :)

I entered the bug regarding the ebuild causing the ImportError thing in 
Gentoo's bugzilla:
http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=49670

If a Gentoo user who's not on a NAT network wants to verify that there's 
nothing else to fix, I'd appreciate it. I'll be able to switch my computer to 
connect directly after I finish an rsync of a set of ISOs.
