I see no problems checking this in. I think config.guess from automake 1.6
will fix the AIX4/5 issue.

For the java_net_PlainSocketImpl.c changes, should we add something to
configure.in to check for the headers sys/ioctl.h and asm/ioctls.h and include
appropriately? And why the ifndef _AIX? Do we need this on Linux, etc.?

Okay, I understand the PlainSocketImpl.c changes... I have committed something
similar... let me know if the _AIX check is still needed (see if
HAVE_ASM_IOCTLS_H is defined in config.h after configure).
