This patch fixes a number of bugs in PropertyDescriptor,
resolving 25 or so failures in the PropertyDescriptorTest 
testlet.

Thanks it clearly solves most PropertyDescriptorTest mauve failure. But it is a 
bit dificult to review since there is no ChangeLog Entry and the patch contains 
both code changes and formatting changes. In the future please try to submit 
those as separate patches.

But Brian decided to close the patch without applying it.

You DID! Thanks. Applying #1033 to one copy and this one to another copy and 
then diffing gives a much more readable patch. THANKS! Will be applied a short 
while.
