I think I'm going to place the docs into a separate .tar.gz when making a dist.
 Still have to fix your problem though... must be a limit on command arguments.

=================== BUG #3207: FULL BUG SNAPSHOT ===================

Submitted by: archie172               Project: classpath
Submitted on: Mon 04/14/2003 at 11:18
Severity: 1 - Ordinary Resolution: None
Assigned to:  cbj                     Status:  Accepted
Platform Version:  None

Summary: API installation fails, argument list too long

Original Submission: I get this error trying to install Classpath on FreeBSD:

gmake[3]: Entering directory `/usr/home/archie/classpath/classpath-0.05/doc/api'
gmake[3]: Nothing to be done for `install-exec-am'.
/bin/sh ../../mkinstalldirs /usr/local/classpath/share/classpath/api
mkdir -p -- /usr/local/classpath/share/classpath/api
gmake[3]: execvp: /bin/sh: Argument list too long
gmake[3]: *** [install-data-local] Error 127

P.S. How about adding FreeBSD to the list of choices when
submitting a bug?
