No, you seem to get it. I was confused during some of my earlier
experiments. gcc sets the POSIX_VERSION when -std=c89 is in effect which
is why I thought I needed _POSIX_SOURCE. I am running some more tests,
but it seems you are right the we only need _BSD_SOURCE.

P.S. It will still not compile with gcc-2.95, but it will when all
warnings that are now produced by default are fixed. Soon, I hope.
