Summary:  src/ directory in CVS checks out indefinitely

Original Submission:  I was checking out from CVS and the src/ directory which 
is probably a symlink to its parent causes the checkout to go on indefinitely.  
Before I realized it, I had checked out at least 20 levels deep.

Yeah, that src symlink in the cvs root of classpath is strange. I have no idea 
why it is there. But if it is not strictly needed then I would like to remove 
it. Problem is that I don't know how to remove it. I have CCed Elfyn McBratney 
who might be able to help.
