Details:

The message record, defining the value type object, may contain the
indirection tag, allowing to reuse the previously written object instead of
defining the new one. This can reduce the message size if the identical
objects occur many times in the more complex data structure. I did not noticed
Suns implementation using this, and our ORB is interoperable even without this
possibility. However the indirection may be really useful, and it may be
worthwhile to not that the feature could be implemented.

The responsible class is gnu.Vio. What to do with the indirection tags, is
defined in the OMG documentation.
