    although I still have some doubts because
    "thumb" is translated to "arm" since 2011-03-23

I didn't know. Maybe $cpu is not actually "thumb" (instead "thumbv7"?)
on this system.

I have no personal knowledge (or need) for any of this, just passing on
what kolan_n sent me. I hope he will reply with the answer to your
request for the CPU-MFR-OPSYS triplet on his system ...
