Not really.  I don't know what your cvsu does.

My original `cvsu' was like `cvs -n update' only it didn't contact the
server.  Pavel then added some nice features to it so that it can
print even more status information.  For instance it has a `--find'
mode so that you can use `cvsu --types=M --find | xargs rm' to remove
all modified files.
