When I run ./configure for ddd 3.3.1, it prints out:

checking for CORE_MAGIC definition in <sys/core.h>... no
checking for PTRACE_DUMPCORE definition in <sys/ptrace.h>... no
checking for ostrstreambuf::freeze()...
at which point it hangs. I've never had a configure hang on me before.
I'm trying to install it on a Slackware 8.0 system, with
autoconf (GNU Autoconf) 2.52
automake (GNU automake) 1.4-p5
gcc version 3.0.2
