(hopefully) easy question

I apologize if this is a stupid question, but I have been working
on this for
a couple of hours.  How can I change the background and foreground
of the
Ddd windows?  I have tried invoking it with the -xrm option and
I added the
following two lines up front in the .ddd/init file:

Ddd*foreground yellow
Ddd*background black

I exit and restart ddd after every change, but I have been unable to change the
colors.  It is a great debugger, but the bright background is giving me a headache.
