DDD data layout issues |

Howdy, just started using DDD (long-time ups user :-) and I'm liking it
except for one massively annoying thing relating to the Data View window.
While debugging C++ code, I have boxes all over the place that I go to great
lengths to align to my liking manually (I guess my brain expects 'em in a
certain place); when I exit the scope/file and then return, the layout is all
messed up (royally no less - meaning the boxes are somewhat on top of each
other, etc, some of the linking lines/arrows are no longer there, etc).
I tried to disable the 'Preferences->Data->Layout (Compact/Automatic)' and
mucked with different combinations - nothing helped (DDD always intervenes).
I even tried to disable the "Auto-Align" feature as well - nothing changed.
Is there a setting that notes "leave it as is and _don't_ touch it :-)" ?
I just want to retain my own layout and not have it change on me each time
I re-enter a particular scope.
uname -a : SunOS calvin 5.7 Generic_106541-15 sun4u
DDD --version : GNU DDD 3.3 (sparc-sun-solaris2.7)
Much thanks..
