I used to have similar problems with other X apps
but they would core when running against XFree86
but work fine using Reflection X.
However, XFree86 on Cygwin improved after that and
got very stable (for me).
If you are free and able to try, you could try
installing Cygwin/XFree86 and try it out.
It might need a bit more tinkering from your side
of course, but if it works you'll have a free
solution to work with.
I am not saying that XFree86 is more stable in general
(I wouldn't know) but at least the likelyhood of running
into the *same* bug should be fairly low, i.e. there
is a chance ddd works on XFree86 even if it fails on
RX.
A long shot, but worth a try if you need an immediate
solution.
If it works, you could explain the solution to the
list, but I don't want to post using this mail
address to the list. Thanks.
Good luck!
