Using debian package 2.5-26
in :

($name, $aliases, $addrtype, $length, @addrs) =

I have the domain : "dom.ain"
I want to create a subdomain for sourceforge :
"sf.dom.ain" but I configure DNS and "sf" si also the
$unix_box (@ is my friend)

So :
$unix_box = sf
$sys_default_domain = sf.dom.ain

then gethostbyname have : "sf.sf.dom.ain" and can't

Solution :

Test if $unix_box is already at start of

if ($sys_default_domain containatstart $unixbox) then
gethostbyname($sys_default_domain) else
gethostbyname($unix_box . "." . $sys_default_domain).

Sorry can't write a patch, don't know perl and don't
have time to learn it and find how to cut a string.
But this is the idea.

Have a good day,

Thank you for the work, it's great !
