First of all, I apologize for the delay. I've been busy with real

probably be someone around.
Oh, absolutely no need to apologize. I certainly understand the demands
that real life can introduce, and I am grateful for any help you (or anyone
else) can offer.
And thanks to the pointer to the mailing list, I will subscribe.
To your question: did you provide a non-empty password when asked by
Debconf? It just looks like you didn't:

DBI->connect(dbname=sourceforge;host=209.53.13.117;user=sourceforge;password=)
If this does not resolve your problem, do not hesitate to subscribe to
the list and mail there.
My memory is not exactly what one would call exact, or even particularly
accurate, but it seems to me that when I was installing both sourceforge
and postgres (I assume that is what you mean when you talk of debconf) I
wasn't asked for a password at all. Perhaps I had too high a setting at
which questions were asked.
Will uninstalling and reinstalling postgres and sourceforge do the trick,
this time with questions set to a lower setting?
Thanks again for the help.
