  Yes, I think this is where your problem lies.  Check the syntax of
the "cvs import" command.  It should read something like:

$ cvs import <module_name> <source_tag> <start_tag>

  <source_tag> means where you got the sources from, <start_tag> means
the initial tag for your files after import.  For instance:

$ cvs import alpha Rita start

  You should erase your cvs repository (if possible) and try again
after you redo a clean import.
