Hello,
For the client (and at mid-term for the server) we will need a better
format for the configuration file.
I've asked on caml-list@ what are possible options[1] and the most
interesting possibilities are:
- Config_file from Cameleon2. Library written for reading/writing
configuration file. Should be already packaged in Debian sid;
- ocaml-csv. Library to read comma separated value files;
- Lua-ML. A extension language with a C-like syntax that can be
interpreted.
(there is also inifiles[2] but it depends on PCRE, yet another library)
Config_file seems more suited to the task but Lua-ML offers the
capability to do more (e.g. let the user write small programs for the
client).
On the other side, there are other extension languages possibilities
(Caml itself, Neko) so it might be to early to make a decision regarding
extension language.
So I'm inclined to use Config_file, but I would prefer to have other
developers/packagers advice on such a choice.
Your opinion?
Thanks,
d.
