Follow-up Comment #1:
What is happening is that, on Windows, the pane containing the buttons is
being collapsed. To make matters worse there is no indicator - a small
triangle - that otherwise would indicate that it can be opened. Once opened
(by clicking on the blank space next to the Directive name a second attempt to
set the conditional (or any other button) *does* work. I'll look at disabling
this feature for windows at least.
