[dev-serveez] legal issues

Hello Andreas,

  as a matter of fact, me as the maintainer of Serveez, may have done a
mistake. I missed to ask you, as a contributor, whether you *would* be
willing to assign your copyright, which has been noted in the relase and
CVS in the following files:
 * src/guile.c
 * src/libserveez/asprintf.[ch] and
 * src/libserveez/cfg.[ch]
to the FSF (free software foundation). Serveez is *licensed* under the
GPL. The developers (and maintainers) of Serveez hold the *copyright* on
it themselves. This is because we thought it isn't not (yet) worth the
effort to sign it over to the FSF. This may change in the future. That
is why I *need* to know whether you *would* sign it over, too, and whether
you agree to the principles of free software in general regarding the
Serveez project.

Personally I think this email is just a matter of (un)necessary
bureaucracy, but it is important for the free software movement. That is
why I need to raise this issue at least once.

To the other copyright holders: Would it make sense to sign copyrights
over to FSF in the future (and does it at all)?

        Stefan Jahn <address@hidden>.
