I'd like for "make dist" to make a tar.xz instead of a tar.gz,
via this change:
configure.ac | 2 +-
1 files changed, 1 insertions(+), 1 deletions(-)
diff --git a/configure.ac b/configure.ac
index f5c636a..fb693de 100644
--- a/configure.ac
+++ b/configure.ac

Is that OK?
Unless something important jumps out in the next day or so, this is the
last issue before i bump the version number in configure.ac, set the
release date in NEWS, do a "release commit", and tag that commit. All
this will happen on the ‘next’ branch.
The rest of the release process:
- merge ‘next’ into ‘master’ in the repo
- generate the dist tarball
- sign it
- upload it to GNU
- generate the manual in all formats
- update gnu.org web page
- send announcement to info-gnu
- post a news item on savannah
I would gladly do these tasks (well, except for updating the web page,
which involves mucking around w/ CVS, blech), but do not have admin
status in the Serveez project (on savannah). Two possible solutions:
1/ someone w/ admin status does them;
2/ someone grants me admin status so that i can do them myself.
What do you think?
