Hi Alan,
nice to see you on the list :)

Where abouts are you situated?
If you are likely to have to make that sort of journey, would it make
sense for us to have the meeting closer to you? I have about a 30mile
round trip to manchester, though it is probably best portrayed as time:
It will take me 30 minutes to get to manchester.
What about using GoToMeeting to host the meeting instead?
Good idea, the thing is, we are on IRC all the time (which is sort of
instant chat if you haven't used it)
if you aren't familiar with it, the best way of getting online with it
is to go to

Leading on from that, one of the main reasons that we would like to
organise a "physical" meeting, as opposed to one on IRC, or one in the
second life, or using VOIP or conferencing facilities, is that we want
to build up a community who knows each other, and in my experience this
is best done through face to face meetings.
I was just looking at Ekiga[1], and for those of us with microphones
that might be something to look into, but for the time being I think
physicial meetings are what we are looking at initially.
Hope to hear more from you soon. :)
Tim
