Should work out of the box on most modern distros, the ZTE modems have
been well supported in 2.6 for a while with the "option" driver. It
should show up as a USB serial device, which you can then setup
wvdial/gnome-ppp to use, or Network Manager should pick it up without
issue and "just work".
