It depends on which version of libsdl1.2 you have installed. The newer compatibility library doesn't work with the current GNU Radio. There's a pull request to fix this.

Just curious, do you actually use the Video SDL sink in your projects? I'm just trying to get a feel for the actual usage of this block by users.
