Yes. It seems a symptom of a design problem with GNUstep requiring
all sorts of shell magic and directory writing, rather just than a
combination bug of GNUstep and a particular packaging system. I remember
this problem killing GNUstep for me on a system with many read-only disks,
but I lacked the ability to identify it at the time.
