And the key word of that paragraph are the CYA words: "no *known*
rights". Be rest assured once .Net is in place and popular, there will
be a flurry of IP rights assertions by Microsoft. Remember GIF? Remember
DH Key Exchange? Remember hyperlinks? How about the new case for
"Internet downloads"? MP3? Huffman encoding?

When something becomes big, suddenly the IP owner discovers a whole new
bunch of rights they can tax. This is the angle we should slant comments
on the ECMA statement if asked.
