Quite.
mds and I have been talking about MACS a lot recently. The idea of having a
common authorisation server is good, and as MACS supports multiple
authorisation agents, the ideas you expressed in your email can be
implemented along side others without too much trouble.
mds and I are very interested in the concept of integrating MACS with the DGEE
so that anyone may write WS based applications to deploy into the dgee, and
have them benifit from a standard authentication machanism (so anyone needing
authentication for their app doesn't need to lift a finger :o)
The next logical step is to implement a de-centralised resilient distributed
MACS over the dgee itself... this is quite a radical idea but certainly
possible - but best left on the back burner for the time being.
Thought you should know of the auth descussions that have recently taken place
:o)

Chris
