Hello my name is Andrew Whitworth and I'm a committer for the Parrot
project. I've been working to start planning and designing a new JIT
system for that VM, and some people have recommended that we look into
libJIT as one possible JIT engine for us to use. What I have seen of
libJIT is very impressive indeed, but I wanted to ask a few questions
before jumping into any kind of decision. Parrot's future JIT system
will ideally be pluggable, allowing different code generation backends
to be used. libJIT definitely rises towards the top of the pile of
things we would like to try first.
1) Is it possible, without too much effort, to use libJIT with a
different VM without having DotGNU present?
2) What are the release and support policies for libJIT? Are they the
same as for DotGNU?
3) Is development on libJIT active and ongoing?
Thanks in advance for any help.
