Once you have figured out the hatch puzzle, you can use the "go down"
exit to go down into the submarine. Perhaps it would be more intuitive
if it were a "go in" exit...?

In the game, I have tried to avoid the standard "open door, then go
through it" paradigm where you have to do two movement actions to get
from one place to the next.
