Is the normal user under the groups: messagebus, haldaemon, power ?

If not, it can be added using:

  usermod -a -G messagebus,haldaemon,power <user_name>

Complete addition:

  usermod -a -G disk,cdrom,audio,video,usb,messagebus,haldaemon,power
  <user_name>
