Hi Matias. I saw your reply to my email on the Dragora-user archives. I
never got anything to my inbox, maybe because I'm not subscribed to the
list. I went searching through the archives to see if I could find
someone else who had the same issue and saw your reply to my email. And
there was a button that said "reply to Matias". So that's where this
email is coming from.
Sorry, I thought you were on the list, since I directly saw the mail
arrived there.
In turn I will try to answer you here and send a copy to the mailing
list.
I really appreciate your reply in trying to help me out. I got the iso
from the official mirror. I only download from legit sources. And I
checked the checksum. Everything appears to be intact with the iso.
Just last night though I had the same exact problem with Tinycore
Linux, my computer wouldn't even recognize the iso in the boot menu.
One fix I found on a forum was where someone said to copy a certain
file in the grub partition to the grub config file. I'm wondering if
that might solve my issue. I haven't tried yet though. This is the only
(now two) times I've ever seen this, and I've used all the other libre
systems before, Hyperbola, Guix, Parabola, Trisquel. So I doubt it's
some type of a firmware/driver issue. I'll probably just try to
re-download the iso and start over. My internet connection is really
slow though, so it'll have to wait until I can connect to the internet
at a friend's house :( Oh yeah, I did also make sure to sync it. I
always do that when I copy with dd.
I don't know what machine you have, if it is all UEFI or not, this may
be a problem when trying to boot Dragora, as there is no UEFI support
yet. I also don't know if you are trying to boot from the pendrive or a
CD or from some boot loader (using some entry)...
On a little different note, I noticed there's some entries missing in
the documentation. Would you mind if I helped to fill in the gaps and
write what's missing? I'd love to help out if I can. I've written docs
for Manjaro before, and I've been in touch with the Hyperbola devs and
am going to help with some docs once they get the kernel switched over
to BSD.
To help with the documentation, the documentation is written using the
GNU Texinfo system[1]. You can clone the repository from here:
https://notabug.org/dragora/dragora-handbook
Once the changes are made we try to reflect them at
http://dragora.org/en/manual/index.html
The problem is that I am not working in Dragora, nor do I know if I will
be able to continue to do so or maintain it. As there are no people
financing the project or people supporting it with donations, it is
difficult for me to dedicate time to it since I live (with my family) in
a highly corrupt country. On the other hand it is true that more people
are required to maintain a distribution project.
However, I will be happy to see your Pull Requests or any good milk
progress on the dragora-handbook.
Thanks Matias!
Thanks to you, I'm sorry I can't help more. :-(
