Hello,

I was quite excited to find duplicity because it met the following
criteria:

 1. Free/open-source.
 2. Supports remote backups
 3. Supports incremental backups
 4. Supports encrypted backups
 5. Has a simple, easy to use interface

Here's a question about the interface: What does the 'GnuPg Password:'
prompt do?

It thought it would work like ssh keys or PGP keys, but it apparently
doesn't. It always succeeds no matter what password I use, even 'Scooby Doo',
which I was /sure/ wasn't my password.

Why am I prompted for the password when running '--cleanup'? Anyone with
ssh access to the account can delete it, so the password hardly matters
in terms of deleting the backups once you have access to them.

duplicity suffers from an unfortunate python-ism of looking like it's
exploding when problems come up. What I mean is that it exposes to the
user to scary stack dump sometimes, which makes it look the software is
falling apart.

Two cases where I ran into that include:
 - Hitting Control-C at the password prompt
 - Having the ssh connection die.

It would be nice if these situations could be trapped and friendly
message returned with the scary stack dump.

Duplicity looks like a project that is 95% of the way there to being a
great solution for me. I hope it can wake from its slumber and address
some of these last remaining issues.

Thanks!

    Mark
