The dropdown is no longer a lie.  The PPA now has a Hardy version of duplicity.

I'll try to maintain Hardy (until a new shiny LTS comes out) in
parallel with the latest normal Ubuntu release.  i.e. once Jaunty
comes out, I probably will not continue to update Intrepid.
