I'm not seeing the problem yet, so a couple more questions:

1) What happens if you run:
    $ ncftpls -F ftp://address@hidden:2121/
        - or -
    $ ncftpls -E ftp://address@hidden:2121/

2) Try running this:
    $ ncftp ftp://address@hidden:2121/
then attach the ~/.ncftp/trace file to your reply.

Do you know what the remote FTP server is?
