hi Aaron,

had a report that excluding '*.lock' does not work with 0.7.19 and testing with 
latest 0.8.x reveals it still fails (s.b.). can you explain why? unfortunately 
selection.py does not throw a stack even with max. verbosity.

Fatal Error: The file specification
    *.lock
cannot match any files in the base directory
    /srv/www/vhosts/jamoke.net/duply_dev
Useful file specifications begin with the base directory or some
pattern (such as '**') which matches the base directory.
