   Any other suggestions?  I recently built the Fink version (CVS as of
   June 17), with options as follows, and that worked.  After I send
   this, I'm going to give it a shot from the CVS directory with the
   same options & see if that works.  I'll make maintainer-clean
   first...

   configured using `configure '--prefix=/sw' '--without-carbon' '--with-x' 
'--without-gif' '--infodir=${prefix}/share/info' '--mandir=${prefix}/share/man' 
'--libexecdir=${prefix}/lib' '--with-x-toolkit=lucid' 
'--without-toolkit-scroll-bars' 'CPPFLAGS=-I/sw/include' 'LDFLAGS=-L/sw/lib''


This did not work from the emacs CVS directory.
