Exactly: adding Cygwin to the list will not do any harm beyond what
the suggested patch already does for the native build.
Anyway, setting HOME to "C:/" is silly, IMHO.

I agree.

The Cygwin build runs the Unix code, so there's no setting of HOME
anywhere in it.
