It looks like part of python.ek was broken by the rewrite of compile.el.
We have no maintainer for python.el; would someone please fix the bug
and then ack this message?

C-c C-v (python-check), called with the default command, results in  
an error:

pychecker is not installed in my path, so there should be a proper
