Programs don't usually (to my knowledge) set new-frame (or other) face
attributes except as static defaults which are of infinite duration.
If a program wants a static default, it should use defface.
If it is true that the only uses of set-face-attribute
are places that ought to use defface instead, perhaps
we should make it obsolete to get those programs' developers
to fix them.
What are some programs you have seen using set-face-attribute?
