Okay again, I've never seen that notation either, but I get
it, this time. I don't know if I like it tho, it looks too ...
modern. And referring to "electronic mail", that's just weird.
At our side, of course, we call it gmane.emacs.erc.general and
nothing else :)

TBH, I never had a any problem with spam, be it by mail or on
IRC, so I'm indifferent to this suggestion, but I wonder
another thing, namely where do you set this?
It could be interesting to see what user flags there are and
even more so which ones are enabled right now ...
