Can you not put the HTML within #+begin_export HTML ... #+end_export
blocks and then use org-edit-special (C-c ') to edit the HTML? That
will put the block in HTML mode and leaving the edit buffer (C-c ') will
return you to your org file as it was when you invoked org-edit-special.
