Still had no time yet to debug it, but I discovered this new thing:

Be paperoga the computer controlled with x2x;
Be tron the computer that controls paperoga via x2x;
Be frame.paperoga a frame of an emacs session running on tron and
   displayed on paperoga:0 
Be frame.tron a frame of the same emacs sesion, this one displayed
   on tron:0

What happens:

     I select a region in frame.paperoga

     I try a middle mousebutton paste in frame.tron. Nothing happens.

     I try  a middle mousebutton  paste on another  application window
     ,namely aterm. The text selected in frame.paperoga appears in the
     aterm window.

     I *select* the text in the aterm window: automagically the text I
     select  appears in  frame.tron (could  be different  from  that I
     originally selected in frame.paperoga).
