Thanks. And sorry for the long-winded argument. I suspect we actually agree
about the general case, as well: when Unicode is important for the library
in question, it makes sense to use it in the code.
And in a few years, avoiding Unicode won't make so much sense in any case.
For now, there are still lots of tools around that are not very
Unicode-friendly.
