I often use EMMS to listen to mp3 files exceeding two hours in length. The playing time that appears on my mode line shows only minutes and seconds; right now the playing time I see is "96:47/127:29". I'd like to request the ability to show the time in hours, minutes, and seconds (eg. "1:36:27/2:07:29" here) either by a configuration option, or by breaking out the formatting logic into a function that's more amenable to adding advice to. Right now the logic is buried in the large function emms-playing-time-display and I don't see any way to format the time with hours other than by redefining it entirely.
I'd be happy to work up a pull request myself if that's preferable.
